Entries for this competition are now closed!

Do you think that photo you took on holiday in June is worthy of a magazine cover or what about that photo of Jimmy being pecked on the nose by the neighbour’s parrot?  If you think you might have a winning photo of a special birding moment, then we have a photographic competition that’s just right for you!

The club is launching a photographic competition for members only, so if you’re an amateur that enjoys birding and can take a photo that captures your passion, then why not enter.

The focus will obviously be on our local indigenous feathered friends but if you have a photo from your exotic holiday overseas that you’d like to enter, send it along.  You might have taken a really interesting photo while out atlasing, during Birding Big Day or one of our club camps this year – why not submit it and see what our judges think?

We’re happy to announce the following three categories:

  • Local wild birds
  • Amusing and fun pictures
  • General

The emphasis of this competition is fun so we’re keeping the prizes for each of the categories fun too .  The competition is about birding in all shapes and forms so dust off your camera and start taking your best shots as entries close on 23rd January 2009. Winners will be announced after the AGM on Tuesday 10th February 2009.
